Trying to decide between the Boost 12, Core 12 EVO and Pure 8/10 and not sure of the differences? The main difference is in the brakes. Read this. It should help. Let's start with the Boost 12 versus the Core 12 EVO. The heels are identical except - very big except - the Boost 12 brakes aren't on the heels.

HAGAN makes the widest range of backcountry skis.
That can make deciding which ski is best for you (or a particular outing) difficult.
We make powder-focused skis (Boost Series), All-Mountain skis (Core Series), super Light and Fast skis (Ultra Series), Classic Value skis (Pure Series) and even BC Nordic and Approach skis (Special Series).
These points comparing and contrasting our different ski lines and models may help!

The Core 12 Evo is an update of the Core 12 Pro with an evolution of the brake retraction into a new, easy to operate, automatic brake system. One significant benefit is that users can’t forget to release the brake before their descent. The ATK equivalent of the Core 12 Evo is the Raider Evo.
The Pure 10 is the same as the Crest 10 and the Pure 8 is the same as the Crest 8.
The Pin Up 10 and 8 are updates of the Pure 10 and 8 with the new automatic brake retraction system like the Core 12 Evo and dual magnetic heel risers. We will continue to offer the Pure bindings as a lower cost alternative to the Pin Ups.
The Grom 5 is our new version of the Candy 5.

The Denver Post wrote a good article recently on the uphill skiing policies at Colorado ski areas.
Some areas will allow uphilling only outside of ski area operating hours — meaning only when the lifts aren’t running — but others will allow it during operating hours as well. All restrict uphill travel to certain routes, with most offering only a handful of trails, but a third or so of Winter Park’s terrain will be open for skinning.
Most require buying an uphill season pass for a nominal fee, but uphilling is free at all five Vail Resorts properties in the state: Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone and Crested Butte.

Toe-mounted ski brakes are unusual. They look a little strange. Weird even. Heel-mounted brakes being the standard, you know. So why depart from standard? Wouldn't you rather just go with the flow and blend in with the crowd. You wouldn't want to be unusual and stick out, would you? That would take a bit of open-mindedness and courage. Who has that? Even if there are advantages, big advantages, to going your own way.
Here are four reasons the Hagan Boost 12 bindings have front mounted brakes - and the big advantages of the Boost 12 brake system.
