How to install Z01/Z02/Z02 Junior ski brakes
Installing (or swapping) ski brakes on the Z0 series bindings is quite simple, or at least I hope you find it so. The only slightly tricky part is figuring out how to “depress” the binding plate and retract the brake prongs to get it to fit the slots before tightening down with the screws.
This first photo depicts the three stages. Stock binding set up (for ski leash with heel plate and without ski brake) in the middle, heel plate removed on the left , and brake installed on the right.
Step one: remove the existing heel plate by unscrewing (and keeping!) the two screws below.
Step two: Place the heel plate portion of the ski brake on this part. Retract the ski brake prongs to be able to align with the depression.
Step three: Tighten the screws removed with the original heel plate. Do be careful to properly thread the screws, not cross screw them.
That's it! If you have any difficulties a ski shop should be able to help you.
