The Hagan Core TF alpine ski touring boot provides an unrivaled combination of superior hold, downhill performance, ease of operation, durability and reliability. Narrow foot? The Core TF M is a bit narrower than the Pure M.
The Core TF sits squarely at the ideal intersection of durability, power, lightness and mobility. The boot achieves this thanks to a Ba-X reinforced frame, yielding torsional stiffness for power transfer while retaining flex in the upper boot. The ribbed cuff provides a healthy mix of support and weight savings. At just 1,130 grams, the Hagan Core TF approaches skimo race boot lightness, with superior hold, adjustments and downhill performance. The simple, easy to operate (through your ski pants), robust ski/walk mechanism will have you thankful that you don’t have one of those fidgety, fragile systems or extra tongues to carry around and put in and out. Like that is fun to do on a wind-blown, precarious mountain top. The power strap/buckle combo up top can be easily disengaged while touring. The setup clocks in at 1,130 grams (size 27) and boasts a whopping 60 degrees of fore/aft motion. Big ascents, check. Burly descents, check.
The boot liner of the Core TF is 100% thermoformable for a completely customized, full-contact fit. The closed-cell EVA foam provides superior warmth and comfort, and makes the liner 60 grams lighter. The Core TF is the perfect companion for light and fast performance-oriented ski tourers. The anatomically correct shell (ACS) provides perfect power transmission, ensuring a high degree of precision and stability for not only the descent, but also for uphill climbs in exposed terrain or when using crampons. The Grilamid shell material, the BaX frame Cuff, a perfectly positioned cuff inclination and the extra-wide power strap (OCB - Oversized Closing Belt) provide sensational ski control in all situations. The Multi-Deflect-Buckle System (MDB) provides optimal power distribution to the shell and holds the foot securely in position during ascents and descents.
The only difference between the Core ST and the Core TF is the liner. The ST liner is “instant fit”. It is thermoformable through most of the lower foot, but “instant fit” on the cuff. The TF are 100% thermo-formable. Because they are really intended to be heat formed, the foam is a bit denser than the ST. This means they are often less comfortable out of the box, without heat forming, but can be more thoroughly formed. I’ve found the fit to be rather standard. They are a bit narrower than most brands in the forefoot. Length is pretty accurate in my experience and customer feedback.
