Hagan Youth Ski Touring Gear for 2021/2022

October 25, 2021 2 min read

I get asked a lot: What gear do you recommend for kids?

Here is my answer -

We now have two youth ski touring packages! Both revolve around our Boost Jr skis and matching skins.
One has pre-installed rails for sliding on included alpine bindings and ski touring adapters.
The other package includes our Pure 8 binding which is very light. (Less than half the weight of the somewhat comparable Dynafit Rotation.)
New this year we have very attractively priced Pure Junior boots to match.

Award-winning Hagan Skis

August 19, 2020 3 min read

2020/8/19 Update: Just received word that three of our new products received awards from  Backcountry Magazine.

Hagan backcountry skis win a ton of awards. Which is especially impressive given we don't submit our skis to many reviews. Here's a sampling: BOOST 99 – Backline Magazine Test Winner (First Place), Backcountry Magazine Editors Choice award. BOOST 94 – Montagnes Magazine "Very Clear First Place" CORE 89 – World Ski Test "First Place"

Montagnes Magazine

I don't read French (my German is fair), but I know how to use web translators. According to the inter web, this is what the French Montagnes Magazine said about the Hagan Boost 94: (excerpts, click the link below to read the entire review in French)

  • The Big Surprise of this Season
  • excellent stability even at high speeds
  • A model that is not unlike the behaviour of the Salomon Explore 95 but with greater rigidity.
  • This ski becomes our favourite of this 2020 range
  • slips very clearly in the first place of these tests.
  • enormous carbon-filled shovel erases all the roughness of the terrain
  • unparalleled driving comfort in deep or trafficked snow
  • turns are easy to make

Blister Gear Reviews - Love for the Hagan Core 12 Binding

November 19, 2018 1 min read

Last spring Blister Gear Reviews put some miles on theHagan Core 12 binding. Some of their thoughts:

  • I felt more confident skiing hard downhill on it than on any other binding in this test.
  • The only binding in this test with independently adjustable vertical and lateral release values in the heel.
  • The heel risers of this binding are easily the best in the group.
  • Its overall performance makes it my favorite binding of the group.
That's just a sampling. Intrigued? Read on.
